The Farmer's At Home: A Friday Dinner From Our Kitchen To Yours

Until we can welcome you to our dining room, our Friday night dinner is delivered to your door by our staff on their way home, for just £50.

After a trial period in spring, we're back for July with an easy-going summer menu that's good for picnics or relaxed home dining. 

Each 3-course menu serves two people, or order solo and keep some for the next evening!  We supply a simple set of instructions for you to quickly finish and serve your meal to enjoy at home: Most dishes are pre-cooked.

Our food is simple but inventive, with local flavours and absolutely fresh, hand-picked seasonal produce from our neighbours' farms and gardens - the kind you simply can't buy in the shops. We've been cooking this way for a long time, and every single ingredient we use is sustainably and ethically sourced. We cook only 20 dinners, so book in early to avoid disappointment. 

Each dinner sold supports our renovation, helping us return the historic inn to its place at the heart of our community. 

Our staff deliver within a 10 mile / 15 km radius of The Farmer’s Arms (LA21 8DT) as they head home between 5pm - 6pm. Collection from The Farmer's Arms is available too, but strictly on the Friday afternoon between the hours of 4.30pm - 5pm. Please select your delivery or pick-up option at checkout. 

All our packaging is recyclable or biodegradable. 
Unfortunately we can't accommodate any special dietary requirements right now: But if our delivery meals take off, we hope to be able to in the future.

Please be advised that courses are subject to last minute change depending on availability of produce from our local suppliers. Don't worry though - it'll still be wonderful!

July 9

Seasonal vegetable mezze (dips & small salads)

Chargrilled herb-marinated Grizedale Forest wild venison with hand-made grilled flatbreads & seasonal sides including organic leaves, hummus, pickles, slow-roasted locally grown vegetables

Chocolate salami & fresh local berries

July 16

Venison & herb summer terrine with home-made crackers and pickles

Poached salmon or sea trout with a dill & tarragon mayonnaise, local new potatoes and seasonal greens.

Pavlova with whipped cream and fresh local berries

Japanese country-style bento special:

Home-made tofu with dip, organically-grown greens dressed with soy & sesame, steamed Japanese rice, Grizedale venison teriyaki, miso soup with vegetables, pickles

Matcha (green tea) hazelnut brownie
